I went to a basketball game with my mom tonight. It has been 5 years since I graduated. Some things never change--the skirts were too short, the make-up too thick. There was an overwhelming sense of high school. 5 years ago, I too wore skirts that were too short and make-up that was too thick. I have been through many stages since leaves the premises of this high school. There was the "I was a cheerleader in high school" stage, followed by "I cheered in high school and survived" stage. Shortly, the "I can't believe I wore that" stage kicked in. During this stage, I believed that everything...I mean everything...was wrong. Proudly, I can now look back or go back and visit and not be disgusted by the short skirts (and whatever else). I can look at them and know that was a good time in life, and I turned out ok.
I grew up in a small town. I'm ok. :)
BB.
